Warme Nominated for Story County Supervisor

Nevada, IA—On Monday, June 20, 2022, the Republican Party of Story County convened a Special Nominating Convention to fill the ballot vacancy for the office of Story County Supervisor.

 

Upon being nominated, Kara Warme was unanimously approved by the Story County Republicans to be one of the two Republican candidates for Story County Supervisor. Kara Warme, along with her husband, Dr. Bryan Warme an Ames native who is a physician with McFarland Clinic, own and operate Stagecoach Prairie Farms. They also have two daughters, who attend both Ames and Gilbert Schools. Kara Warme has been a senior business executive for the past 20 years in the telecom industry, most recently having served as the Vice President for Client Analytics & Insights at Comlinkdata.

Kara Warme joins Republican Jim Wright who is also on the ballot for Story County Supervisor.  In November, residents of Story County will have the opportunity to elect two members to the Story County Board of Supervisors.

Following the nomination of Kara Warme, Story County GOP Chairman Brett Barker stated, “Story County Republicans are excited to add Kara Warme to the ballot this November. We believe that Story County needs the leadership and business experience that Kara Warme brings to Story County Government when elected alongside Jim Wright, who is farmer from rural Story County who will also be a strong advocate for Rural Story County and who also has served on the Story County Medical Center Board.” 

Barker further stated, “Story County Republicans believe it’s imperative that both Kara Warme and Jim Wright are elected this November. Both will bring common-sense solutions to the government of Story County and will be the leaders our County needs going forward.”

As a reminder to all voters, the General Election will be held on November 8, 2022, with polls open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on election day.

About Kara Warme: Kara Warme has lived in Ames for over ten years with her husband, Dr. Bryan Warme, an Ames native who is a physician at McFarland Clinic. They are blessed with two daughters, Emma and Skylar, who attend schools in the Ames and Gilbert Public School Districts. Kara earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from Stanford University and an MBA from the University of Iowa. She has twenty years of experience in telecommunications and marketing leadership. Most recently, she was Vice President of Client Analytics & Insights at Comlinkdata. Prior to joining Comlinkdata, she was Senior Vice President of Product Development and Insights at ShareTracker and worked for ten years in various leadership roles a AT&T.
